Tended Path : Pregnancy Guidance Program

You just found out you’re pregnant. Congratulations! Also, wow, there is a lot to figure out, and the user guide is, shall we say, light on details.

Your first prenatal appointment might be weeks away. You may not even know yet whether to stay with the OB/Gyn you’ve seen since your last pap smear, switch to a midwife, or start interviewing providers like you’re casting a very intimate reality show. Your provider visits will be short. A doula or midwife, if you want one, isn’t really in the picture yet. And in the meantime, you have questions. Real ones. Urgent ones. Ones you don’t even know how to ask yet.

So you Google. You ask your friends. You scroll. And you end up with seventeen different answers, half of which contradict each other, with no way to know which ones to trust.

That’s the gap Tended Path is here to fill, with someone who actually knows this world, who doesn’t have an agenda, and who can be there from the very beginning instead of showing up at the finish line.

This isn’t a birth class. It’s what comes before all of that.

Most pregnancy support is focused on the big moments: labor, birth, delivery. And that stuff matters! But it tends to show up late. By the time your doula is at your side, you’ve already spent months making decisions, building a care team, and preparing your body, largely on your own.

Tended Path is about all of that earlier stuff. The part that’s actually really hard and that almost no one is helping you with.

What kind of provider is right for me, an OB, a midwife, some combination? Do I even need a doula? How do I find one, and what do I ask when I interview them? What does my provider mean when they say that? Is this thing I read online actually true? What does preparing my body for pregnancy even look like right now? What should I be thinking about that I’m not thinking about yet?

These questions deserve real, thoughtful, evidence-based answers from someone who isn’t guessing, and who isn’t also your aunt or a stranger on the internet.

What we actually do together

Think of us as your pregnancy navigator, the knowledgeable, steady presence who helps you build your team, sort through the noise, prepare your body, and figure out what you need before you even know you need it. We don’t make decisions for you. We help you make them yourself, with a lot more clarity and a lot less anxiety.

That might look like:

  • Helping you figure out what kind of birth provider is right for you, and how to find them
  • Thinking through whether a doula makes sense for you, what to look for, and what to ask when you interview them
  • Helping you understand what your provider is recommending, and what questions to ask next
  • Sorting through what you’re seeing online: what’s evidence-based, what’s noise, what’s somewhere in between
  • Preparing your body for the physical demands of pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood
  • Personalized nutrition and lifestyle guidance, not a generic prenatal checklist
  • Thinking through postpartum before it arrives, so you’re not improvising in the fog
  • Raising the questions you didn’t know to ask, and helping you think through the answers

Does this sound like you?

Tended Path tends to click for folks who:

  • Are newly pregnant and have no idea where to start
  • Feel overwhelmed by conflicting information and don’t know who to trust
  • Want professional support earlier than the system typically offers it
  • Are navigating a complex pregnancy or a previous difficult experience
  • Have a lot of questions and no good place to bring them
  • Want thoughtful, individualized guidance, not a one-size-fits-all program
  • Care about evidence-based, inclusive, judgment-free support
  • Want to arrive at each stage of pregnancy feeling ready, not scrambling to catch up

How it works, in four phases

Our approach follows four natural phases, though like pregnancy itself, it rarely goes in a perfectly straight line.

Your guide through all of it

Tended Path is guided by Dr. Johanna Hill, Pinetree’s founder and a prenatal specialist since 2010. She has spent her career helping people feel informed, supported, and confident in their own bodies, and she brings that same approach here: no agenda, no pressure, just really good guidance.
